Susquehanna Stage Company is delighted to hold auditions for Cabaret, the fifth show in its 2021 season. The theater is seeking dynamic performers of various identities, races, ethnicities, and body types to enliven this classic musical.

There will be three audition sessions. Those auditioning need only come for one session but should be prepared to stay the whole time.

In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920's draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee's bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin's natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally's boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Songs include: “Willkommen,” “Mein Herr,” “Maybe This Time,” “Two Ladies,” “Married,” “Cabaret,” and more! (Description from ConcordTheatrics)

Unless required by script or licensing agreements, casting decisions will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status. Each auditionee will be fully and fairly considered and actors of diverse identities are encouraged to audition!
